Making the Mind and Body Fit for Meditation
In many spiritual traditions, preliminary practices are used to prepare the mind as a vessel for more advanced forms of meditation. This 2-day retreat offers a Western approach, drawing from developmental psychology, integrative attachment therapy, neuroscience, and more. The aim is to overcome inner obstacles such as unresolved emotional content, trauma, and developmental wounds — to be able to fully show up on the meditation cushion.
We follow the developmental path of the human being toward full embodiment and a strong, stable sense of self. You’ll be introduced to methods for nervous system regulation, embodiment, emotional regulation, attachment repair, and self-development. Within the domain of self-development, we focus on four core attributes of the relative sense of self: self-definition, self-esteem, self-efficacy and self-compassion.
